Soft Maple Brown Sugar Cookies

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Extra sugar for sprinkling
  1. Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg, maple syrup, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients; mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Scoop dough into balls and place on a parchment‑lined baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle tops with sugar.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and tops are crackly.
  8. Cool on a rack and serve warm.
